Easy Way to Track Twitter Replies on Your iPhone
So, I try to keep my friend-follower ratio on twitter at roughly 1:1. Occasionally somebody will follow me who follows the whole world (but whom nobody follows), and I follow a few “big names” who don’t follow me in return. Whatever.
But I still get some replies from folks who I don’t follow among the handful of total replies I receive. But I typically check twitter from my iPhone and the mobile version doesn’t have a “replies” tab like the regular web version. So, I got jiggy with it.
I grabbed the RSS feed for my replies page and created a feedburner feed. I plug the feed URL into Safari on my iPhone and, presto, it launches the built-in feed reader. Add a webclip bookmark to my homepage and I’m in freakin’ business.
The only caveat is that, when you create the feedburner feed, you need to pass in your twitter login credentials as part of the original feed URL. Like:
http://inkedmn:myPassWord@twitter.com/statuses/replies.rss
Otherwise it’ll bomb out when you try to create the feedburner feed.
